Date Night Ideas at Home this Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is a special holiday for couples around the world. It’s been a tradition to most of us for how many years now. People go on romantic dinner dates and go from one place to another just to spend time with each other. But you cannot deny the fact that this occasion is stressful. It’s not because you’re stressed in planning your date with your special someone, but because of the over-crowded places and the burdensome traffic jams.
Going out for a romantic dinner and going to “Instagram-worthy” places may be the trend, but having your date night at home is always something special. Dating at home is memorable, whether you’re having dinner or doing fun activities, you have more time to spend with your partner all through that night.
Here are some ideas to make your night memorable with your partner.
1. Make More Space in Your Living Room
Move your furniture pieces aside and make more room for a dance floor. This is your time to shine to show off your skills on the dance floor and impress your sweetheart. If you don’t know how to dance, try to learn and watch some dance tutorial videos before the date night at home.
To set the mood you can decorate your living room with Valentine’s-themed decorations. You can try adding cupid figurines on your side tables or hang mini-cupids on the ceiling. Change the color of your curtains into red, then add candle lights to make it perfect. We also suggest that you use scented candles to make the room livelier. If you don’t have candle lights, you can just make use of what you have to add accent to the place. Lastly, add rose petals on the floor and play songs that the both of you would love to listen to for the night.
2. Create Art Together
It’s never too late for you and your partner to do something new together, if it would mean making memories together. When it comes to making memories that will last, creating art together would be a good idea for that. You can always look for tutorials online and start the activity together. Examples of craft ideas would be creating a photo collage of you two, painting romantic images, or making sweet poems for each other.
3. Prepare a Romantic Dinner Together
Another way to show how romantic you are to your partner is by preparing dinner together. You and your partner can make different dishes and desserts together; having interactive activities will bring you closer, especially if you two just started dating. But if you don’t have time to prepare dinner, you can always order food. Make it extra special by ordering from different favorite restaurants that you both love. Set the food you ordered on plates to make it look more presentable.
4. Have a Fun Game Night
Every one of us still has that ‘kid inside’ every time we play games that remind us of our childhood days. Playing games can bring relaxation every now and then, and also helps build relationships because they create teamwork. So bring-out your game boards, card games, or video games and have fun together!
5. Set-up a Bar
Have a short break from activities and have a long romantic conversation with that special someone of yours. Place an ice bucket with wine, and add finger foods such as crackers, nachos, etc.
These fun ideas and activities could also work on other occasions not just on Valentine’s Day. The important part here is that you and your partner get to spend time together despite your busy schedules. They aren’t like the usual dates wherein you dine out and watch a movie, or go sight-seeing, but they definitely add up to those simple, yet fun intimate times that you spend together.
