What to avoid in having laminated furniture
1. Don’t soak in water
Soaked in water for a long time can cause stains, warp, bloat and peeled surface; and this are not reversible.
2. Don’t scrub too hard
Scrubbing too hard and too much can remove the finish of the furniture. It is advisable to use a lint-free microfiber, for it is soft and non-abrasive, then gently rub off any unwanted stains or dirt.
3. Do not use hard bristle brush or steel scrubs
Using abrasive cleaning tools can damage your furniture by scraping and scratching the protective surface, leaving it vulnerable from dust, dirt and liquid.
4. Don’t use bleach
Prolonged use of bleach can cause discoloration. If in case this happened, rinse the surface with water damped cloth.
5. Don’t use acidic and abrasive cleaners
Same with bleach, this can also cause great damage on your furniture. It can leave unwanted stains and grazes on the surface
6. Don’t spill dyes on surface
Dyes can leave permanent stain. When spill occurs, wipe off immediately and rinse with soap-water solution, then wipe dry.
7. Don’t slide and scratch with other
Although laminated furniture is somewhat resistant to scratch, it can still be damaged. Prevention is better than solution. Be extra carefully when putting things on top or pairing it with other furniture or decoration, to avoid unwanted scratch and damage.
8. Don’t use wax and oil base furniture polish
Using oil or wax base furniture polish can gather dust rather than remove them. It can attract the dust to stay more. The laminated finish has its natural way to repel dust accumulation. It can be easily dusted and wiped off.
