Plants give life in your backyard or even inside your home. Adding plants on your shelves adds a whole new texture in your living room, kitchen or even your bedroom. Choose a plant that doesn’t need sunlight like succulents. Be aware of the sizes of the plants, the reason for this is that we don’t want our shelves to be over-decorated because it will look crowded and your decoration can lose its visual appeal.

2. Books, Magazines, and Photographs

If you’re a book lover, start stacking your beloved books on your shelves at home. Books and magazines can be used as a decorative display and at the same time, it’s functional. You can stack them by height or group them based on the series/publication. Also, you can display your book and magazine leaning and if you do that make sure the cover has some touch of artistic vibe to it.

Another way to decorate your shelves is by putting a photo frame, either it’s leaning or it’s using a stand. You can use your family photo or artwork to fill up some spaces on your shelves. Having photographs or artworks on your shelves is like having an art exhibit inside a museum while walking down in memory lane.

If you have large spaces of shelves then invest in baskets. Don’t think baskets are unnecessary that will take a lot of space, but you were wrong. Baskets can be both functional and visually appealing at the same time, especially in your kitchen area or could be inside your storage room. You can put labels and such to make your whole house organize and also don’t forget to match your baskets in your house theme; we suggest you try neutral color so that it can blend easily. 

4. Group it Depending on the Size

Arranging your decoration from figurines, books, plants, etc should not be placed as-is. Think first on how you’re going to rearrange those decorations, it can be arranged by its size or height. Your arrangement can be by its height or you can try to arrange them on how it would appeal to you, whether that is books, figurines, plants, etc.

5. Your Collection

Action figures, dolls, shells, teacups, medals, etc. show of your most valuable collection to you and your guests. They also deserve to be placed in your home because it also adds another dimension of look when you add them as a decoration. The colors and sizes really pay off for your home and it’s also nice to look at when you’re grouping them.

6. Make a Color Pattern

If you want your living room, bedroom or kitchen area to look more organized, the other way is to arrange your decorations by color. You can try to make a zig-zag pattern if you have different shades of colors or make it a rainbow theme. Try also to use bold and vibrant colors to make your home popping and pleasing to the eyes.
