2. Going for the Wrong Size of Furniture

Another mistake in decorating your house would be purchasing the wrong size of the furniture. It certainly is exciting to purchase new pieces of furniture for your house, but do keep in mind that it’s not just about the design and style, but it’s also about the size and how it will go well with other things in the house. 

It’s advisable to measure your room area first, so that you will know the accurate measurement of the pieces of furniture that you’re going to purchase. Having the right size of furniture will avoid getting your house all clogged-up together with other pieces. 

3. Ignoring the Outlets Inside

Placing outlets inside your home should be in a visible area and safe from any hazardous space. But most of us forget this precaution and that this may cause fire accidents. We all know that hanging things on the wall instead of putting them on the floor is a good space-saving tip, but it doesn’t stay that way anymore if you start hanging too many displays.

It will make your home look small and dark if all of your displays are out in the room. When you place them, make sure there are at least 4 inches gap between your figurines and even for your picture frames.

5. Choosing Uncomfortable Chairs

Pick a chair that will make you feel relaxed and comfortable while watching TV or eating in the dining table. For the living room, choose sofas that are soft and wide enough, but not overwhelmingly big. For your dining set, make sure your chair is comfortable to sit on while eating, regardless if it has a cushion or none.

7. Moving Furniture on the Wall

If you think pressing your furniture items on the wall will make it look more spacious, well you’re wrong. The entire room will look like a hallway, and there will be limited space for you to walk on if you have guests in your house. These mistakes usually happen in the living room area.
